In this Virtual Reality Lab for Thermodynamics, students will be required to make several calculations in order to input the physical variables of the process and simulate the production of the desired alloy. Instructions are described in the following pages.

Steel manufacturing involves a wide range of engineering and scientific disciplines. To manufacture a specific steel alloy with special properties engineers and scientist must carefully design the right manufacturing process. This process must include the right casting temperatures, the cooling and shaping process, and the chemical composition of the alloy.

Mass Flow - Newton's Law - Conservation of Energy

The objective of this Virtual Lab for Fluid Mechanics is to give students with a series of jet engines simulations where they can apply various principles of fluid mechanics to analyze their behavior. In the lab, students will be able to simulate a Turbofan, a Turbojet and a Turboprop. The Turbojet includes an afterburner.

In this Virtual Reality Lab for Fluid Mechanics, students can add fuel, rpm, check the velocity of the engines and the thrust generated. To analyze the engines students must read about the principles of jet engines operations. This simulation is intended for students of Aerodynamics, Physics and Mechanical engineering, or related fields.

Physics - Industrial Conveyors


Mass - Velocity - Acceleration - Friction - Pressure

The objective of this Lab is to provide students with a series of exercises in which they can apply the laws of physics to industrial problems. By completing the 3 Tasks students will understand the concepts of pressure, mass, velocity and acceleration as well as the impact of friction when objects are moved in industrial conveyors.

In this Virtual Reality Lab for Physics, students will apply the concepts of mass, position, velocity, acceleration and friction in packages being stored at a DHL facility are processed correctly. Students will calculate the input variables of several pneumatic pistons which are employed in almost every industrial production system. Students will simulate the movement of the packages and the pistons to understand how the movement of these components can be calculated with the laws of physics.
